    At BRIT, we have the special privilege of helping adults discover the wonder of our natural heritage through a variety of classes, workshops and programs. Join in the fun.

    BRIT Reads Book Club

    Now in its second year, the BRIT Reads Book Club reads new and classic works of botany, horticulture, natural history, sustainability, and other similar topics.

    Classes and Workshops

    BRIT is excited to kick-off two new series of workshops in recognition of our 30th anniversary year. Our Permaculture 101 series is being taught by Kim Martin and Laurie Bostic of Barking Cat Farm in Rockwall, Texas and will introduce participants to the basics of this philosophy and lay the groundwork for further studies.

    TERM (Techniques for Ecological Research & Management), is a joint educational outreach program being offered by BRIT, the Fort Worth Nature Center and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden which will provide interested students and educators with opportunities for hands on experience in the fields of plant and wildlife science.

    Exhibits

    BRIT is fortunate to have two exhibit spaces, the Madeline R. Samples Exhibit Hall and the intimate Welcome Center exhibit space, in which to display a variety of art from both well-known and emerging local artists. BRIT joins with the rest of the Fort Worth arts community twice a year and participates in spring and fall Gallery Nights.

    Lecture Series

    The BRIT Lecture Series, which is made up of Brown Bag lunchtime lectures and Visiting Research presentations, is designed to create communitywide conversation about a diverse range of important and rapidly developing topics. This series gives scientists and speakers a forum for sharing the most current information about their areas of expertise and allows the public to interact with leading members for the local, national and international scientific community.

    Sip at BRIT

    BRIT is hosting a series of happy hour learning events in celebration of our 30th anniversary. Every third Thursday of the month there will be a mixer with good wine and tasty bites followed by a light and fun learning experience. Each event has its own program designed to provide helpful and entertaining information.
