    Prairie Day is a FREE family-friendly, annual festival of arts and crafts that includes flight demonstrations of majestic wild birds and live music from Texas musicians. Families can learn about hardy Texas native plants that grow on the prairie. 

     
    Visitors learned about the cultural and natural history that defines our region through activities and games for the whole family. BRIT wants to further educate the public on the importance of our natural resources and the region's native ecosystems, and how restoring native plants can benefit homeowners as well as wildlife.

    Matt Snook 

    Matt has dedicated over 30 years of his life to entertaining others. Growing up on a small farm in Missouri, Matt started singing in church when he was 3 years old, won his first contest when he was six years old and performed in country music theaters at the age of seven. 
     
    He spent many years honing his skills in honky-tonks and has performed with George Strait, Jamey Johnson, Mark Chestnutt, Tracy Byrd, Michael Peterson, Tracy Lawrence, Aaron Tippin, Little Big Town, Big and Rich, Gretchen Wilson, James Otto, Daryl Singletary, Tony Orlando, John Michael Montgomery, John Conlee, Ray Benson, and many others. One of Matt's more notable opportunities was surviving 45,000 contestants, auditioning for NBC's The Voice and joining Team Blake on Season 8!

    Get Your Prairie On!

     

    Discovery booths and exhibitors to include many area organizations such as the Log Cabin Village, Camp Fire First, Fossil Rim Wildlife Center to name a few. Activities included guided prairie walks, free BRIT tour, composting, children's crafts, solar-oven cooking, face painting, balloon twisters, and raffle prizes. The crowd will enjoy live music and delicious, mouth-watering street food from some of Fort Worth's best food trucks.

    Prairie Day Schedule
    There's no better way to learn about the birds of prey, or raptors than to meet them in person! Blackland Prairie Raptor Center introduced children and adults to the world of raptors. These hawks, owls, and falcons are well trained, and at this show you will learn what makes these birds an important part of our environment.
    The Texas Discovery Gardens helped us learn how reptiles fill a critical role both as predator and prey species. Reptiles are important components of the food webs in most ecosystems and can also be important seed dispersers. They are also known as pollinators and are a useful anthropogenic role in ecosystems by helping control the numbers of serious agricultural pests by consuming rodent and insect pests.

    Guests saw the Prairie Day corral with miniature horse, baby pony, mini-micro pigs, baby chicks, fainting goats, dwarf goats, sheep, pygmy goats, bunnies, ducks, and chickens.

    Amber Leigh White is the epitome of resiliency. The singer-songwriter, who lands somewhere between Americana and mainstream Country on the genre spectrum, has lived the stories of redemption and survival in which she sings. Her first record Easy Lovin’ You deal with DreamWorks, followed by I’m Moving On.  White has thrown herself once again into pursuing her passion for music, releasing a new single, Float and a new album, Straight Lines. 

    Animal Hope gives adoptable animals another chance to find their forever family.  Animal Hope is not just an animal shelter, it’s an animal rescue.

    Hartley Hall is a modern traditional country songwriter. Her big personality and small town charm are genuinely American. Her unique marriage of humor and hard-knock morality create timeless song-story performances which enamour audiences of all ages and places.
